The Coastal Community of Wilmington
Historic Downtown
Wilmington
Downtown is the address of an eclectic citizenry-old
Wilmington families, newcomers, artists, writers and
various others. Neighborhoods abound where you can
chat with your friends from your front porches, watch
the boats navigate along the Cape Fear River and dine
at four-star restaurants.
Old Suburbs
Forest Hills and South Oleander are beautiful
neighborhoods with centuries old oak trees. Close to
Westfield Independence Mall, New Hanover Regional
Medical Center and within eight miles from
Wrightsville Beach and the Historic District.
This area has been my home for over 40 years, a very
special community in which I raised my family.
Airlie Gardens
Nestled near the Intracoastal Waterway you will find a
67- acre European like 10 acres of gardens that is
open to the public for a small fee.
Golf Communities
Landfall
This gated community is located near Wrightsville
Beach and about eight miles from the Historic
District. A unique development that is home to
families who enjoy golf, a full service sports center,
dining and social facilities. Landfall is a golfers
paradise, with 45 holes of Jack Nicklaus and Pete Dye
courses. The Drysdale Sport Center is second to none
with its tennis, physical fitness and Olympic size
swimming pool.
I listed and sold hundreds of homes in Landfall as
an on-site agent there for many years.
Porters Neck Plantation
This award winning Fazio golf community lies north of
the city of Wilmington. Residents can enjoy a handsome
clubhouse, tennis facility, two swimming pool and
fitness center.
The Sounds
Scattered around the entire area are elegant bodies of
water called sounds. Masonboro, Greenville and Myrtle
Grove Sounds provide not only beauty but also more
importantly the estuaries where the small oysters,
clams, fish and other shell fish begin their lives
grow to maturity. Nearby are found the areas of
handsome developments which feature waterfront homes
as well as homes off the water with wonderful views.
Bald Head Island
South of Wilmington and a short ferry ride takes you
to a magical island where electric golf cart are your
only transportation. This unique island is accessible
only by ferry and features beautiful beaches as well
as an 18-hole golf course. Gorgeous homes overlook the
Cape Fear River the Atlantic Ocean. Bald Head has a
clubhouse with a dining room, tennis and swimming
facilities. For the people who desire to get away from
life’s hustle and bustle, this island provides truly a
peaceful lifestyle.
Figure Eight Island
Figure Eight Island is a privately owned island north
of Wilmington and accessible by a privately owned
gated bridge that crosses the Intracoastal Waterway.
With approximately 400 homes on the island and no
commercial enterprise, Figure Eight is a welcomed
retreat for those seeking a peaceful, private and
close-to-nature lifestyle.
Wrightsville Beach
Wrightsville Beach is predominately a year-round
residential beach. You will find various available
rentals and beautiful homes to purchase facing and
close to the pristine waters of the Atlantic. The
beach also supports an abundance of fine restaurants
and upscale shopping.
Mayfaire Village
Close to Wrightsville Beach, this new community is
bringing a vital and enchanting lifestyle, shopping,
dining and working environment. Only a short distance
from the Town Center are engaging and luxurious
condominiums as well as spacious single family
residences. This is a new type of community you may
never want to leave!
